Tips

Protect Your Computer

Jan 17, 2017

We recommend Microsoft Security Essentials for Windows 7 computers. Windows 8 and 10 computers come with antivirus built in, its activated automatically when any 3rd party antivirus software such as Norton or Mcafee is uninstalled. You should also create an Administrator user with a password on your computer, then restrict the account you normally use to a standard account. This way a password is required to make changes to your computer, it prevents viruses and kids from installing unwanted programs.

Backup, Backup, Backup

Jan 6, 2017

Every computer needs a backup. I recommend using the Windows Backup to an external hard drive or better yet use an online backup such as CrashPlan. Home users should have one form of backup, businesses should have three forms of backup, ask for details.

Phone call scam ALERT!

Dec 20,2016

Please be aware of the many scams going around. Scams include a fake Microsoft company calling you, telling you they "know" of issues on your computer. They want to connect remotely and try to sell you their antivirus protection after they scare you. They don't and cannnot know whats wrong with your computer. Please ignore these calls and don't give them your credit card number. Also please dont google phone support numbers, there are many websites pretending to be Comcast, Adobe, etc. Get the number off your monthly bill or go straight to the companies website.

Popup scam ALERT!

Jan 15, 2017

We have been receiving about three calls a day asking what to do with this popup scam where the computer talkes to you, tells you your files are infected and wants you to call phone number. Sometimes the only way to get rid of it is to force your computer off by holding the power button for 10 seconds.
